I wish all my clients and their families were like Megan and Bill because their Denver Museum of Nature and Science wedding was one of the most enjoyable assignments that I’ve had in a while. It was great to get back to shoot another rooftop wedding at the museum. Travis joined me to document the day and when we showed up at Magnolia Hotel to meet up with the ladies, Megan’s sister Lindsey greeted us at the door with a huge smile on her face and was ready to help us (and anyone else) with anything that we needed. I hung around with the ladies while Travis headed down a few floors to join the guys while they got ready, drank and played pool.
Right after Megan slipped into her dress, all of her bridesmaids peeked into to the room to witness the complete transformation from friend to stunning bride. Down the street, Bill was waiting at the courthouse to see his bride for the first time and when he did it only confirmed what he already knew. They kissed and kissed and kissed again along the long corridor of white columns. It was an absolutely beautiful location for a first look and we stayed a few moments for a couple of portraits with them. I drove them another location for a portrait before making a quick pit stop at 7-Eleven to get a chocolate snack for Megan (hey, a bride has to eat) on our way to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for the ceremony and reception.
The rooftop provides one of the the best views in all of Denver as you can see everything from Pikes Peak to the south to the skyline and even Longs Peak to the north. I know guests are throughly impressed when they walk through the doors to see everything that our great city has to offer. That backdrop was the perfect setting for their ceremony. One of Megan’s bridesmaids, Brielle, served double duty and also officiated the wedding which was a unique touch. Bill’s dad yelled out “HELL YES” when the parents were asked if they were ready to accept their future daughter-in-law that got a great roar of laughter from everyone in attendance. Megan and Bill each placed a letter written to each other in a wine box for their fifth wedding anniversary, exchanged vows and rings and of course Bill got himself another spectacular kiss in front of all their friends and family.
After a few drinks on the second floor everyone came together for dinner where several people shared some great stories. Megan’s sister Lindsey even explained how their celebrity couple name, the “Chadnerts,” came to be. Dessert and dancing took place on the first floor of the west atrium and they had a blast getting down to Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift and everything in between.
I have to give a big shout out to Megan’s sister Lindsey and wedding coordinators Kate and Sheila from Bello & Blue Events for making everything look amazing and creating a stress free day for Travis and myself.
Bill and Megan, thank you both for trusting us to document your Denver Museum of Nature and Science Wedding. I can’t wait to share more photos with you and your families as soon as you two get back from Hawaii.
