Chicago Loft Wedding | David & Emmet

Earlier this summer I traveled to the Windy City for David and Emmet’s Chicago Loft Wedding at the Bridgeport Art Center’s Skyline Loft. Working alongside Chicago Wedding Photographer Travis, we’ve photographed several of the loft venues in the city and Bridgeport is among our favorite.

Typically we start separately but since David and Emmet got dressed together it was a team effort from the start. The room was fool of energy as their sisters joined them to help put the finishing touches on their looks and celebrate with a bottle of champagne.

There obviously wasn’t a first look so we all jumped into a SUV and drove to a couple different locations for portraits with the two of them. We all had a lot of fun together because despite some natural, nervous energy they were open to all of our ideas and I think that made for a great set of images.

When we arrived at the venue I set up a wide angle remote camera high above the space to capture a great overall of the ceremony. The hardwood floors and timber beams make this a one of a kind event space on the south side and a killer venue for a Chicago loft wedding. I wanted to capture the space in a way that showed that and I think the remote camera photo does just that.

From the moment the ceremony was over it was time to party and boy did they ever. Everyone in attendance was on the dance floor at some point during the night so it was a blast to document everything going on.

David and Emmet, thank you for allowing me to join Travis in documenting your day. The next time you two throw a party just say the word and we’ll be there!
